Hello, this is GB, pronounced GeeeBee.
This is the first in a series of posts that will focus on a global demand for “something else” concerning cryptocurrencies, oil, energy in general, sustainable ways of living and doing business, and a few other matters.
GB is a collective entity that is particularly good at spotting “elephants in the room”, the kind almost no one else sees. Especially global ones… Our aim is to lead them gently out before they make too much damage.
GB is also a wink at the Shadoks, Jacques Rouxel’s cartoon series from the late sixties and seventies. The Shadoks were bird-like creatures with only four neurons. They were forever pumping for the sake of pumping because “Better to pump even if nothing happens than to risk something worse happening by not pumping”.
Of course, this is the situation we are now in globally. The oil industry looks increasingly like the Shadoks, pumping, pumping ever more, although we all know it leads to precisely nowhere… Sooner than most Shadokish oilmen, and women, like to think, it’s all bound to fall apart.
Moneymen, and women, are also forever pumping… fiat currencies, credit, debt, taxes, and investments, in the hope that if they keep pumping nothing untoward will ever happen and strong “growth” may resume; although we all know it leads to precisely nowhere… Sooner than most Shadokish money-people like to think it’s all bound to fall apart…
The opposite of the Shadoks were the GiBis, intelligent but vulnerable creatures, who held their substantial brains under bowler hats (like Great Britons, GBs).
So we are the GB, one and many. In this series of posts we will cast light on the monetary, cryptocurrencies, oil and a few other kind of “elephants” that we have spotted and that we aim to tame with the GBs… What our GBs are we will tell once you have become familiar with our herd of “elephants”… We hope that you all enjoy it.
