Hi Frederick,

Thanks for your comments. This complements my responses to your other comments on Repowering the planet, Part II — How to re-open the door to the future, intelligently

There is no question of “dissing” here. Where I live, we all have a duty of care. If we are aware of a danger, especially a lethal one, we must alert others of that danger (it is actually a legal requirement). At present no hydrogen infrastructure development is viable and can scale to addressing the Climate Emergency. There is danger to life and the prospect of substantial wealth destruction.

Concerning the solar energy influx, of course it’s “free”. However, to present this as you do is meaningless. Water running down a river, wind, a lump of coal or some oil seeping somewhere are also “free”. What matters is the knowledge required to transform these things into usable resources and derive work from them. This is what is valuable. It is also the case that in all instance one has to use energy to get energy, 2nd principle of thermodyanmics and all. So thermodynamically speaking what you say does not make sense.

As for “free money”, it’s already here, “helicopter money”, “Modern Monetary Theory” and all other nonsenses. Please consider my previous comments and what I point at in:

Value on the edge of a cliff — when wealth suddenly vanishes without trace — Part I

Value on the edge of a cliff — when wealth suddenly vanishes without trace — Part II

Value on the edge of a cliff — when wealth suddenly vanishes without trace — Part III

I hope the above helps,

Cheers

Louis
